St. Louis, Missouri – 05/01/2014 WorkOtter cloud-based project portfolio management (PPM) solution for small and mid-size companies announced the immediate availability of the April 2014 WorkOtter Release to v5.1. The April release ads a redesigned welcome page and a hybrid of team and workplan generated forecasting among other improvements.
The welcome page of WorkOtter has been thoroughly redesigned to provide users with quick access to new feature demos, best practices and a way to connect through social media. This allows customers immediate access to the latest information on WorkOtter and industry standards from within the application.
“WorkOtter has always been about innovation and pushing our industry as a whole, but if the project and resource management community isn’t aware of our progress, we have failed,” notes WorkOtter CFO and Co-Founder Jeff Pupillo. “We have started to evangelize through all popular social media channels to get the word out just how simple, capable, and affordable project portfolio management can be.”
The new Team and Workplan based forecasting came directly from enterprise feedback on the difficulty of using PPM solutions for yearly support. In support organizations, individuals were committed as a percentage of their time for a year, but often were assigned to immediate work. Now project managers can view what people are doing in the short term and still keep their availability limited for future work.
“PPM providers have traditionally struggled to include support organizations that don’t plan and manage traditional projects and thus CIOs never saw the full picture.” said WorkOtter CEO and Co-Founder Nick Matteucci. “With hybrid forecasting now they have a way to easily manage support alongside traditional and agile projects so CIOs have a single pane of glass into their entire organization.”
WorkOtter is a SaaS project portfolio management (PPM) solution for a simple, sensible, and secure alternative to traditional Enterprise Project Management (EPM) software. WorkOtter is ideal for new product development and IT organizations ready to reach their full potential utilizing a simpler, more engaging, and ultimately less expensive PPM solution. Customers can start using WorkOtter with a single user on WorkOtter’s private, secure, and certified cloud, and pay monthly only for active accounts. Key WorkOtter features include Project Management Institute (PMI) tools, Microsoft Project integration, document management, resource management, financials, messaging, timesheets, program management, and ad-hoc dashboards.
